The piranha, a South American carnivorous freshwater fish, has recently been introduced to the fish farmers of Bangladesh. The flesh-eating piranha for its unruly tendency to bite everything that moves in a river, should be banned and totally eliminated from the country, China's fishery department ordered in 2002.
Piranhas are aggressive, territorial freshwater fish with sharp teeth; they are native to South America. There are about 20 known species, and the fish are illegal or restricted in 25 U.S. states because of the danger they can pose to people.
Piranha culture should be banned in Bangladesh. Actually, there is no legal law about that fish. If these fish are released in our freshwater rivers, they may eat our native species. It will be very harmful to our nature.
